Autodesk acquired PlanGrid in 2018 and has since folded it into Autodesk Construction Cloud. PlanGrid is no longer sold as a standalone product, and existing customers have been moved to Autodesk Build or BIM 360.
For many teams, the move may not be the best choice, as it raises some questions:
Slower adoption: Autodesk Build is more complex than PlanGrid, so field teams may need more time to get comfortable with it. Its wider feature set is great if your teams use it.
Higher cost: Autodesk Build is part of Autodesk Construction Cloud, so your final cost depends on the features you enable. That can mean paying for tools your teams never use.
Migration challenges: Moving platforms changes how your teams work, and some data, such as certain markups or custom fields, may need manual review.
